Visit The Factory
Welcome to a brief tour of our factory, which is situated to the South Of Jakarta – about one hour by car. After entering the factory we will see each process in order, so you will end up with a good idea of what it takes to make furniture. We’ll start with the entrance.

Teak
 | Teak is the common name for the tropical hardwood tree species Tectona grandis and its wood products.[1] Tectona grandis is native to south and southeast Asia, mainly India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Burma, but is naturalized and cultivated in many countries, including those in Africa and the Caribbean. Burma accounts for nearly one third of the world's total teak production. |
Teak is used extensively in India to make doors and window frames, furniture and columns and beams in old type houses. It is very resistant to termite attacks. Mature teak fetches a very good price. It is grown extensively by forest departments of different states in forest areas.

Old Java has its own on-site kilns to dry all its wood, to 8% moisture content prior to manufacturing. This, combined with our modern joinery and mass production techniques, minimises the risk of wood movement after shipment.

Old Java has a special wax patina finish which gives the wood an “inner glow”. Of course wood needs to be properly looked after, but maintenance is easy with wax and stain removers.
